Finally it arrived! My new PowerMac G5! I ordered it almost two months ago and the Mac arrived the day before yesterday. This is just a photodocument of my setup, for the benefit of the readers of csma.
This is my old setup, with a 3.2Ghz PC (the 'eye' screen), a dual 1,25Ghz Mac G4 with two 18" monitors and a 17" Wacom Cintiq. Also a 15" 1,25Ghz PowerBook.
These are the boxes when they arrived. Not a particularly interesting picture, but here they are.
And this my new setup. The old G4 was in a home-built hushbox (since it was LOUD) but the new G5 is very quiet. The G4 is standing next to it since I need to move data from it, but it will soon join the other servers in the garage. The Cintiq isn't hooked up yet since I haven't moved the extra graphics card over from the G4. I've also made sure that it's as tidy as possible. You'll note that a lot of external devices have been moved to the shelf and I am also very proud that I managed to get rid of the cable-pile on the floor. You can actually vacuum under the desk now!
This is a close-up of the monitors. They are HUGE.
