So I had this conversation with Panic on Twitter about whether they supported the "bbsftp" protocol for editing files. They didn't, but were interested in how I used in my workflow. Instead of trying to explain, I put together a screencast that attempts to show it instead. Hopefully, they'll understand how I use it.
Basically, the "bbsftp" protocol enables me to edit files on the server with one click. This works with live files and with files kept in a subversion repository for instance. It's super-handy and a real time saver. I can't imagine developing Atlas without it. So, the link is straightforward enough: "bbsftp://sandman:server.com/path/to/file.php" - when click, Interarchy will download that file as user "sandman" from server "server.com" and open it in BBEdit (hence the "bb" in the protocol). When I've done my edits and save the file, Interarchy uploads the file back to the server.
I have to warn about my english, though. I'm not used to making screencasts in english, and I get way too self-concious when trying to speak it. Well, training makes perfect?
